Title: Faifia Green Tea Mask Review

Category: Reviews, Skincare | Author: sparkle1977 | 09-19-09

Woke up this morning and decided my face needed a nice and quick pick me up. So, I decided to try a Faifia Facial Mask. The mask I put on was the Green tea mask, which helps keep the skin looking clean and clear. Applying the mask was very easy, since it is one of those mask sheets. It comes in a fairly large moist packet, and is saturated with the green tea and other ingredients…listed at the bottom of the post. The mask is folded in half and stays intact when removed, thanks to the thrifty plastic divider between the fold. Read more…

Title: Boost By YBF Review

My husband and I have been using a moisturizer launched by Your Best face (YBF) a few months ago. The interesting thing is that we both like the moisturizer and have completely different skin types. I for one, have combination skin and he has dry skin. I will go into it by first describing what the product looks like and what it claims to do and then let you guys in on our experience with the moisturizer. Read more…

Title: Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel

Category: Skincare | Author: sparkle1977 | 08-10-09

Lately, I have been real busy, but finally got 2 weeks off! Even so, I have been trying multiple products for you guys. Mario Badescu, YBF, Nars and Erno Laszlo goodies…to name a few.

My recent craze has been MB Enzyme Cleansing Gel. I’ve been using it, once in the morning and once at night for the past month, yet, I saw a difference within the first week. My husband said, Why does your face look so clear? The first thing I thought was “Dang, was it that bad before?” I would like to think, not.

The green gel comes in a plastic bottle and you get a good amount of it (8oz). I still have half a bottle left and it’s been over 2 months. The cleanser like some MB products is non-foaming and has a nice clean scent to it. Seeing as I like foaming cleansers, I use a face brush w/ the gel so I can feel something happening. So, I just really work the gel into my skin, not harshly.

According to the bottle, the gel is for all skin types and thoroughly removes make up and debris. Well, I have not been using the gel as my main cleanser. I remove my make up first and then I work the gel in. You know, trying to Benefit from the Alpha Hydroxy Acid. That being said, don’t use this product if you are allergic to AHA.

List of ingredients:
Deionized Water, Glycerin, Papaya extract, Grapefruit extract, Monomide, Triethanolamine, Methylparaben.

Conclusion:
The gel helped clear up my skin…of this my husband is proof, LOL! Guess, we all have bad skin at times. I have not had any reaction to this product, but you know every ones skin is different. If you don’t like non-foaming cleansers and are allergic to AHA I wouldn’t recommend this product for you. A small amount of gel is needed to work it into the skin, but if you are gel happy and like to over use product…go with the 16 oz bottle.

If you are a MB fan, you’ll be glad to know MB is now available at some Ulta stores. Much nicer than having to order online all the time. Here’s a press link:Click

What do you guys think about the Twilight Saga? I saw the books at Barnes and Nobles the other day and was tempted to pick them up. I felt the movie was lacking, but I still liked the romance of it. I wonder how the second movie will turn it. Looks pretty cool! Here’s a vid.

Title: YBF’s quench Lip Treatment

Category: Skincare, YBF | Author: sparkle1977 | 06-08-09

Your Best Face (YBF) has recently improved their lip treatment quench. They have increased its antioxidant protection, adding to quench’s benefits. I have yet to try quench, but for $15 I would be crazy not to. Quench is designed to heal, refresh and protect your lips. The ingredients that have caught my eye include: Vitamin E, blueberry seed oils, gentle forms of Vitamin C, peppermint and clementine oils. Doesn’t that just sound soothing? Sounds more interesting than my usual chap stick, and has more benefits too. (See benefits below)

Here is a list of a range of benefits. I must say, Gosh I never taught to brighten my lips? Maybe lipsticks will go on a shade nicer. :) I am sure it is  subtle brightening. One other thing is…that I am all for lip treatment against wrinkles. I don’t want to  get crazy looking lips. Do you?

Benefits (from the site)

  • improves suppleness
  • brightens lip color over time
  • prevents lip line wrinkles
  • boosts collagen
  • antioxidants reduce UV damage
  • heals
  • soothes chapped lips
  • prevents moisture loss
  • refreshes & invigorates

So, if you want to makeover your lips or someone elses lips, browse over to the YBF site. I will let you guys know my experience with quench, once I  try it out.

Title: My Skin After Sea World & Puppy Pics

Category: Random Posts, YBF | Author: sparkle1977 | 04-28-09

I recently took a trip to Sea World in San Diego and came back with crazy looking skin. For some reason, I had to deal with crazy breakouts all over my face. I don’t have much of an explanation for it; it never happened to me on past Sea World visits. So, for like 2 weeks my face was not happy and I was not happy. Read more…

Title: Hello BOTB’s

Category: Random Posts | Author: sparkle1977 | 04-24-09

Hello Guys! I have been crazy busy this past couple months and have not been blogging. Shame on me. :( I promise I will  get on top of things, as soon as things slow down a bit. Just wanted to let you all know I haven’t forgotten about any of you and miss you all and miss my free time as well. I was thinking about coming up with a name for my faithful readers. Readers just sounds too unfriendly and inappropriate, especially since I think of most as cyber friends. Any suggestions? Well I am off to feed my new Siberian Husky. He is 10 weeks, gorgeous and full of energy. I’ll post some pics of him soon.

Title: MAC Sugar Sweet Quick Scoop

Category: MAC Collections, Random Posts | Author: sparkle1977 | 03-11-09

I visited the MAC counter at Nordies today and the Sugar Sweet Collection is available for pre-order. I got to play around with the makeup and found some new favorites. I do not have any swatches, since my hand was looking crazy and I decided to wipe them clean before leaving MAC. Anyway, here is a little information on the products, based on what I saw.

For starters the Tricolor Lipglass looks uber cute in the container. It really catches your eye because it looks yummy. LOL! The lipglass goes on sheer but gives some color to the lips. You’ll have to apply a few times, since it is a tight squeeze and the wand comes out pretty clean with a small amount of product. I did not try all the lipglass products.

The shadesticks were one of my fave’s from the collection. There are a total of 5 and I pre-ordered (***)

***Butternutty- it’s a frosty, white gold (looked a beigy white on me)
***Lemon Chiffon - Frosted pewter (looked silver on me; good browbone highlight)
***Red velvet -frosted midtone pink (looked a dark pink on me)
Cakeshop -Frosted light neutral beige (looked grayish in color on me)
Penny- Light pinky copper (this ones a repromote; it’s a coppery color)

Note: (The light at counters can play a part in how the colors appear in the store.)

The Mineralized Skinfinishes were another fave of mine. They are just so velvety and go on so nice and smooth.

Perfect Topping- its a pinky peach and would be great as a highlight.
Refined - is a tan peach and would be great on cheeks or to add some color. (matches me best)

I was not really into the eye shadows as they did not do anything for me when I tried them. The same went for the lipsticks. The nail Lacquers were a bit on the pastel side, so are perfect for the spring time.

Hey There! I have been crazy busy this month, but finally got some time to post a blog. Hello Kitty coming out for MAC was just crazy. Crazy busy that is. As I expected, many of the shades did not show up on my skin so I spent less mula. Either way I bought an okay chunk of products. Read more…
