My review for Your Best Face is finally here. I have been using four products from this line for just over a month. The four products I’ve been using are Defend, Control, Correct and Restore. To start off, I will go over what each product is designed to do and briefly list certain ingredients I think play an important role in its efficiency. Then I’ll discuss my experience with the product, what did and did not work for me, and before and after pics. Finally, I will list Pros and Cons.
Before moving on to the product descriptions, I must say it was nice to be able and look up the ingredients for each of these products and find information. There is nothing worse than not knowing what is going on your face. There is an amazing amount of powerful antioxidants and ant-aging ingredients in this line. Some of the ingredients are derived from plants, so you will notice some plant extracts listed below. One of the ingredients I have found most impressive is spin trap. I had never heard of spin trap before, but the way it works is quite amazing. Unlike other antioxidants, spin trap is an intelligent antioxidant. It protects good oxygen preventing it from going bad by reading the spin of a molecule. When a molecule is not in harmony, it starts spinning wildly and causes damage to healthy molecules in the body. Spin trap keeps these molecules in check. Basically, it prevents free radicals from moving from place to place damaging cells, which in turn keeps you looking younger. So, while antioxidants break down free radicals, spin trap, traps rogue oxygen free radicals and transforms them into useful oxygen. It then escorts them back into the respiratory cycle, where it’s used in tissue respiration. (From Skincare Dictionary.)
The first product on my list is Defend, which as the name states… defends. This product is designed to protect your face from the sun through the use of spin trap. Although skin trap protects your skin from damaging free radicals, it is not a sunscreen replacement. Use both for maximum protection. Defend also absorbs excess oil, which helps control shine.
Ingredients I found to be the most important in this product:
- Phenyl Butyl Nitrone (Spin Trap) - An intelligent and powerful antioxidant that instead of destroying rogue oxygen free radicals, it traps them and transforms them into useful oxygen. It then escorts them back into the respiratory cycle, where it’s used in tissue respiration. (from skincare dictionary)
- Sodium hyaluronate - binds moisture to the skin. Is very hydrating.
- Propylene glycol - moisturizes
- Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3- works by stimulating the deeper, matrix layers of the skin. It increases overall collagen production.
- Micronized titanium dioxide - protects skin from UVA and UVB rays
- Vitamin E - antioxidant that protects cells from damage.
My experience with this product:
Defend is a milky white color, that spreads nicely onto the skin. A little bit goes a long way, so I still have product left. Due to the design of the bottles, it is hard to tell how much product remains. The pump is attached to the bottle, so you can’t peek inside of it. (It is an airless pump, making it more hygienic. It allows for minimal use of preservatives.) Defend contains potent and safe antioxidants, making it really good for the skin. It also controls oil, but dried to a shiny finish on me. However, when I wiped my hand across my forehead and didn’t notice any oil, I knew it had been absorbed. (The shine was not noticeable with foundation on.) Currently, I do not have any wrinkles, but noticed it smoothed my frown lines out. (yea, I kinda frown) That was pretty cool. I did notice all the products shared a similar scent. I did not notice any fragrance, when looking up ingredients, so it might be an extract or the spin trap found in every bottle. I don’t know… It’s an odd scent, but goes away after you apply it to the skin. It may take some getting used too.
The second product on my list is Control, designed to correct and help with wrinkles. The product is meant to rejuvenate, giving a toned youthful appearance. Control is formulated with over 26% Argireline. Studies have proven Argireline to reduce wrinkles by 27% after 30 days (when applied twice daily) and results were based on formulas containing 10% Argireline.
Ingredients I found to be the most imporatant in this product:
- Argireline - peptide that reduces the degree of existing facial wrinkles and prevents them.
- Cyclomethicone - silicone that leaves a smooth silky feeling.
- Palmitoyl Oligopeptide - enhances collagen and offers mild uv protection.
- Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide 3 - a powerful anti-inflammatory that helps speed tissue regeneration resulting in normalization of damaged skin.
- Dimethyl Isosorbide - enhances skin penetration making it more effective.
- Jojoba - moisturizes.
- Alpha lipoic acid - Fatty acid an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals. Able to recycle antioxidants such as vitamin C and glutathione after they have been used up.
- Sodium hyaluronate - binds moisture to the skin; very hydrating.
- Vitamin E - antioxidant that protects cells from damage.
- Idebenone - treats wrinkles without the risk of auto-oxidation (means producing free radicals that damage the skin)
My experience with this product:
Control is a pale orange color (looks yellowish) that feels thick and slightly sticky. It spreads quite well onto the skin, but not as easy as the other products because its thicker. I have combination skin and found that I had to use a really small amount to not look oily. A bit too much and I’d look oily with enlarged pores. After a few tries, I was able to eye the perfect amount needed for my face. Very good antioxidants, but depending on your skin type you might have to play with it a little. Be sure to use a small amount. That’s all it takes. Control sounds like a powerful product when used on wrinkles. I cannot vouch for the wrinkle part of it since I have no wrinkles, but can say that my pores looked smaller, my face felt smoother, and pigmentation evened up more.
The third product on my list is Correct, designed to correct, decrease dark pigmentation, and puffiness around the eye area. Correct is loaded with peptides that help smooth out skin, plump up wrinkles and prevent wrinkles from appearing. It also targets dark circles and strengthens delicate tissue.
Ingredients I found to be the most imporatant in this product:
- Licorice root extract - contains anti-inflammatory properties to reduce puffiness
- Acetyl Glutamyl Hexapetide 3 - relaxes wrinkles
- Cucumber extract - soothes skin
- Syn-ake - anti wrinkle cream
- Pepha- timp - reduces the signs of aging by reducing degenerative effects of excessive matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) -degrades every component of the dermal extracellularmatrix including collagen.
- Haloxyl - targets dark circles
- Matrixyl 3000 - promotes collagen production and reduces wrinkles.
- Alpha arbutin - lightens skin
- Phenyl Butyl Nitrone (Spin Trap) - An intelligent and powerful antioxidant that instead of destroying rogue oxygen free radicals, it traps them and transforms them into useful oxygen. It then escorts them back into the respiratory cycle, where it’s used in tissue respiration. (From Skincare Dictionary)
- Glycerine - softens and moisturizes skin
- L-proline - aids collagen formation and helps contain the loss of collagen during aging
- Provitamin b5 - moisturizes
- Raspberry seed extract - inhibits lipid oxidation
- Alpha lapoic acid - antioxidant;a substance that neutralizes potentially harmful chemicals called free radicals.
- SEPILIFT DPHP - moisturizes the skin and reduces the appearance of visible signs of aging. firms skin tissues by stimulating the contraction of the collagen fibers.
- Sodium hyaluronate - binds moisture to the skin. Is very hydrating
- Caffeine - constrict blood vessels and tones
- Vitamin E - Antioxidant; protects cells against the effects of free radicals.
- BHT - is a synthetic antioxidant used to protect certain plant extracts and vitamins (Vitamin A) from oxidation.
- Olive leaf extract - antioxidant; heals skin
- Vitamin A - antioxidant; required for healthy skin
- Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide 3 - a powerful anti-inflammatory that helps speed tissue regeneration resulting in normalization of damaged skin. In eyes, reduces dark circles while increasing firmness and reducing puffiness.
My experience with this product:
This eye cream is one of my favorites from this line. It is white in color, and spreads and absorbs nicely. You literally need only a little bit for each eye and it is enough to make the eye area feel thicker and moisturized. One thing that is very important to me from an eye product is the lack of irritation. Well, this product did not irritate or make my eyes sting/burn/etc. I do have one dark area under my eyes that is less noticeable since using this eye cream.
Note: When you first use the pump it takes a good few pumps for the product to dispense. The scent was really strong when first dispensed. I’d wait a few seconds before applying the eye product.

Lastly, there’s Restore. A product designed to brighten, soothe and hydrate skin. Improving the complexion by diminishing dark spots, evening out pigmentation and redirecting inflammation.
Ingredients I found to be the most important in this product:
- Alpha arbutin - lightens skin
- Sodium hyaluronate - very hydrating
- Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate - a vitamin c ester used as an antioxidant for skin lightening and brightening
- Phenyl Butyl Nitrone (Spin Trap) - An intelligentand powerful antioxidant that instead of destroying rogue oxygen free radicals, it traps them and transforms them into useful oxygen. It then escorts them back into the respiratory cycle, where it’s used in tissue respiration. (From Skincare Dictionary)
- Provitamin b5 - moisturizes
- Vitamin E - Antioxidant; protects cells against the effects of free radicals.
My experience with this product:
Restore is another one of my favorites. It is clear to white in color, and just like the rest it spreads onto the face very easily and you only need a small amount of product. This product is a skin brightener and I did notice some lightening of the skin. If you are one who does not like bleaching agents, this product is for you. It does not contain bleaching agents. Restore is also very moisturizing, so I do not use any moisturizer when using it. I like that it easily creates a nice dewy look. Just remember not to use too much; it is very easy to look greasy with this line. (At least for my skin.) I really think people with dry skin would love this line, because it is very hydrating.
Overall verdict:
I find the “Your Best Face” skincare line to be very beneficial to the skin. It contains many antioxidants and anti-aging ingredients. I personally do not have wrinkles to test the product against, but I must say, my skin has such a nice glow to it since using this line. I have only used it for a month and my skin looks better then it has in a long time. The main challenge for me with this line is the hydration…too hydrating. People with dry skin are probably thinking I am crazy. Just learn how much product is needed for your skin. I bet my skin would drink it up in the winter. One good thing is that I now know about alpha arbutin - a skin lightener. I was always looking up kojic acid in products, because it lightens skin. Now, I have another ingredient to keep in mind. I really do think people with dry skin and mature skin would enjoy these products. Sodium Hyaluronate will keep your skin nicely moisturized and the powerful ingredients will combat those wrinkles. If you are looking for healthier skin, YBF will brighten your face, smooth it out and give it a nice glow. It is nice to see results, especially since I have only been using it for a short time. Oh and before I forget, don’t forget to use sunscreen. Spin trap is really good, but sunscreen is necessary. For more information on the benefits of each product, visit Your Best Face.

Thanks Darrell and Kimberley for the chance to try out and review your skincare line. It has really improved my skin. I don’t have the best camera, but my skin is much smoother, pores are smaller and I love how my skin glows.
This review is based on my experience with YBF skincare line and my opinions. Your experience may be different. The definition for each ingredient is based off my research for that ingredient. Each ingredient may have many more benefits than was stated. Hope the definitions are accurate, if not……sorry, but I am not an expert in those areas.

Hi there, new to your blog! I’m working on my review of YBF now as well and had very similar experience to yours. You did a wonderful and very thorough review!
Hi and Thanks Bionic Beauty! I put a lot a time into the review . Tried to get it as accurate and honest as possible. At least from my experience.
Hi Sparkle1977
Just wanted to know if you still use YBF and if you still like it. You said in your review that it can be a bit greasy but your photos show the opposite. Your skin looks matter and more refined??? I have a problem with large pores and combination skin, do you think I would suit this line. Advice appreciated
Karen
Hi Karen,
I have ran out of most of my YBF, but still have and use Restore and Correct. The products easily go on greasy if you use more than is needed for your skin. I had to experiment with the amount to figure out what worked for my skin. I had to use a really small amount of product. YBF really improved my skin as it shows in the pictures. I do not know how your skin would take to these products since everyone’s skin is different. If you decide to purchase products, just make sure and experiment and start with a really small amount to control oiliness. Especially, since you have large pores; it will make your pores look larger. Mine did when I used it the first few days before getting the dose right. After that my skin started improving. I recommend you start with one product, so you can get an idea of how this line will apply on your skin. Your experience may be different than mine. I hope this answers your questions, if you have any other questions feel free to ask me. During the day if you use a good mattifer and blot powder it helps control the oil when getting the hang of the products. In the pictures in this post I do not have any products on my face. My skin is bare for comparison purposes.
Thanks for response and advice Sparkle1977. You suggest starting with one product, which one would you suggest to start with? Which product do you think helped refine your skin and help minimise pores?
Thanks
Karen
Hi Karen,
Hope that helps.
I was using 4 products from YBF at different times during the day or week, but still used all of them for the purpose of this review. The product that I enjoyed the most was restore - helps improves the complexion. I cannot say that this product did all the work alone, since I used 4 products. However I still use it occasionally and my complexion looks good. I suggested you try one product, so you can see if the greasy aspect of this line, don’t make your pores appear larger. That way you can play around with it if you need too, before making a larger purchase. I cannot say that restore will work the same for you as me, but I say try restore.
