Today’s visit to the MAC store was a fun one, but to my surprise I bought less makeup than I thought I would. The Cult of Cherry quads have to many repeat eye shadows, so I was only motivated to buy one quad. For some reason I keep wanting to call this collection cherry culture.
The shadowy lady quad comes with Light Fall, Smudged Violet, Deep Truth and Shadowy Lady eye shadows. I don’t have light fall and smudged violet, but if I remember correctly smudged violet was a bit messy when I swatched it on my hand. I skipped this one.
The Tempting quad comes with Tempting, Next to Nothing, Dark Edge and Sharp eye shadows. Tempting was quite pretty and sharp was not what I expected. Reminds me of bitter e/s. I already have next to nothing and dark edge, so I skipped on this one.
The Spiced Chocolate quad comes with Nanogold, Spiced Chocolate, Brash and Sweet Chestnut eye shadows. I already have nanogold, however, brash and sweet chestnut called out to me. Brash is a coppery color and reminds me of the pigments from overrich….looks like liquid metal. I think this eye shadow would look real nice on dark skin tones. Sweet chestnut is a cranberry color and Spiced Chocolate is a reddish brown color. I liked both of them and don’t own them, so this quad was a taker.
While I was at the MAC store I ran into a girl from school. I happened to have swatches of the pigments on my arm and next to it I had swatches for the spiced chocolate quad. As we checked out the pretty colors we noticed a good similarity between some of the pigments and the spiced chocolate quad eye shadows. So, I only ended up with Blonde’s Gold. The pigments are pretty and very smooth - melted metal look. I almost bought antique green, except it turned a teal color on me. Don’t you hate it when that happens? So, I ended up walking away with only a couple items from the new collections… Spiced Chocolate quad and Blonde’s Gold pigment. To satisfy my shopping cravings I picked up a 109 brush, top hat e/s and grand entrance e/s.
Here are swatches of the Spiced Chocolate quad and Blonde’s Gold piggie. Brash is actually more vibrant than it appears on the pics and Blonde’s gold is a light gold.
