My Visit to MAC & a Few Swatches

I stopped by MAC again today to check out the Volcanic Ash Exfoliator. Just handling the container, was enough to not buy it. The container was all greasy and messy feeling on the outside. Once I opened the container I was more scared then not. It is a black, smooshy, oily feeling product with a slight funny smell. I just could not picture myself putting that on my face or anywhere for that matter. If anyone actually purchased and tried this product. How do you like it?

From the Solar Field collection, my favorites were Black Ore and Bronzescape. I really liked the way they looked on my skin, however I found them a little messy and some real chunky looking. I am still trying to decide whether to get any of them. I think bronzescape would look good on the body, chest or shoulders and Black Ore would look good on the eyes or to fake a black eye. J/K By the way Black Ore is sold out online, so if you want that solar bit check counters.

The Neo Sci-Fi Collection got my attention the most because of the eyeshadows. I really thought this collection was going to be about bold/bright colors. Well its not! The eyeshadows are definitely a summer choice and I am a bit disappointed. They are pretty, but not what I was looking forward too. I ended up getting:

  • Pink Grapefruit Lipglass - MAC describes it as Orange With Gold Pearl. I agree, but depending on the light I can see red too.
  • Pleasureseeker Lipstick - (needed a nude) MAC describes it as a Creamy Peach. I say its a sheer nudy pink.
  • Expensive Pink - this is a nice one for the crease or to just add that ooomph to the eye. It reminds me of melon piggie, just not as vibrant. MAC describes it as a Frosty Golden Peach. I agree. :)
  • Femme-Fi - very nice highlighter. MAC describes it as a Frosty Golden Cream. I say a frosty beige.

I am thinking about getting Evening Aura - (it’s different) and could add that hint of shine needed to add a gleam to some eyelooks. Hmmm! (thinking)
