My Coastal Scent Brushes & Small Review

ccbrushrev.jpg

Well here’s a look at my coastal scents brushes. For the price this brushes work really well. My favorite brush so far is the Italian Badger Chisel Powder brush - I love how it feels on my face. So this is what I have to say about them:
bagderfacepowder.jpg
Italian Badger Chisel Powder brush- The brush is very soft and I love how it feels on my face. I like to spray fix + on this brush and swirl it into my Everday Minerals foundation. I also use this brush to apply my powder or MSF natural. During my initial wash it did have some dye, but has been free of it since.

Italian Badger Buffer brush large- The brush is really soft and can be used to apply mineral foundation or just buff your foundation in . It is a nice brush, but I don’t reach for it that much - no particular reason. It did have dye in the initial wash, but hasn’t since.

Pink Kabuki brush- The brush is soft and cute! I like to use this to apply my EDM mint concealer. The only thing is it sheds and the bristles are real sparatic around the brush. I probably just got a bad brush. Still it was only $4.99 It doesn’t have dye when washed.

roundcrease.jpg

Italian Badger Round Crease brush - The brush is dense and precise on the crease. I think it could be used as an eyeliner or smudger brush as well. Maybe even on your outer v. I am still trying to adjust to the feel of this brush, since I like to use MAC 217 on my crease and this brush is not fluffy like the 217.

Duo Fiber Black Stippling brush - I have not tried this brush with makeup as of yet, but it smells a little like paint. It had some dye on the initial wash and shed some. The brush is soft, but not as full and has less resistance than MAC’s 187. I will update this one later after I use it and wash it again.

UPDATE: the Duo Fiber Black Stippling brush (above) is really soft and picks up the foundation well. However it shed’s like crazy. I have used it a couple times to apply foundation and one time to apply blush. I get long pieces of bristle on my face and on my shirt. Really bad experience for me. I don’t know if it is a defect of this one brush or not, but this was my experience with the brush. I know CS does exchanges when there are issues… I just don’t remember the time frame for that. If you are looking for a stippling brush I recommend the MAC 187 and for a cheaper option Pursebuzz recommended the NYX one and CS pink one and she has never stirred me wrong. I have not tried that one yet. You can find a review for the NYX brushes on pursebuzz.com.

Ultimate Italian Badger Kabuki brush- This brush looks like a pet. LOL! It is a full head of soft bristles, but does have some nice resistance. This brush had no dye for me and did not shed in the initial wash. After it dried I notice a few loose hairs, which is normal for some brushes. I will update this one when I use it with some makeup, which I haven’t yet.

UPDATE: The Italian Kabuki Brush (above) has worked out really good. It is soft, does not shed and picks up a lot of product. I swirl it in powder or the MAC MSF natural. That’s really what I mainly use kabuki’s for. I am really liking it. :)

So there you have my CS brushes. Some of the brushes had a funky smell after the wash, but it goes away/ dies down once it dries and the more it’s used.

This are just my opinions and my experiences with the brushes. Your experience may be different or the same with some brushes.
