Mario Badescu Review

The items I will be reviewing are the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel and Special Cucumber Lotion. I have been using both products for a month now. However, I did have to stop using one of the products early.

Enzyme Cleansing Gel -The enzyme cleansing gel is a non-foaming green gel that rejuvenates skin, by using alpha hydroxy Acid (AHA.)

Pros:
The cleansing gel works. It has really cleaned out my pores and made my face look more refreshed and renewed. It seems to be controlling the oil on my face, since I break out less frequently. Also, I have been using the gel in the morning and not twice a day like they recommend and still get results!

Cons:
I really like products that foam, because I feel like they are working. So, it took me a little while to get used to the non-foaming aspect of it. It felt like I was applying shampoo to my face and it kind of smells like that too. So, if you want products that foam, don’t remind you of some face shampoo or have reactions to AHA - this product’s not for you.

Special Cucumber Lotion - Fights against oily build-up and bacteria that can cause acne. Uses Sulfur and Cucumber.

Pros:
Really made my face feel refreshed, tightened my pores and cleared up existing pimples. The scent is very mild as well.

Cons:
After using this product for a week I started to break out with the biggest lumps ever. I actually had to stop using the cleansing gel and lotion together. I only used the cleansing gel for a few days by itself, but when I used the cucumber lotion broke out again. I am actually not surprised by the breakout. I’ve had reactions to sulfur, sulfa (Bactrim) in the past, but don’t react to all sulfur types. So it’s a good product unless you react to the sulfur.
