Makeup Definitions For Who Ever Wants To Know

Here is a list of definitions for anyone who is just starting to get into makeup and may not be familiar with certain terms. Some are fairly obvious, but I will post them anyway. I will keep updating the list as needed. Feel free to suggest other terms.

Base- helps eyeshadow last longer. (Basically, another name for primer.)

BOGO- buy 1 get 1 free

Brow finisher- wax in a stick used to groom the brows.

e/s- eyeshadow

EOTD- eye of the day or eye look of the day

Fluid line- liquid liner in gel form. It gives a silky finish and is applied with a brush.

f/l- fluidline

FOTD- face of the day

Kohl Pencil- soft pencil liner.

LE- limited edition

Lipgloss- add shine, or shine and color

Lipliner- used to outline and fill; helps prevent feather and bleeding.

l/l- lip liner

Lipstick- adds color to lips, can moisturize, be glaze, lustre, creamy ect.

Mixing medium- used to apply eyeshadows, glitters or pigments in wet form and reduce pigment and glitter fallout.

MSF- mineralized skinfinish
Depending on the msf it can be used to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day. Also to highlight cheeks, brows or add a bronzy glow depending on the shade.

Paintpot- a highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Can be used as an eyeliner and really makes eyeshadow colors pop.

Paint- eye shadow product which goes on creamy and dries to a powdery finish. It is used as a base for
eyeshadows and to make eyeshadow colors pop.

Piggy- pigment

Pigment- highly concentrated loose colour powder that contains ingredients to help it adhere to the skin.

Pressed pigment- pigment that has been mixed with alcohol and turned into a more solid form. (eyeshadow in a pan)

Primer- helps mascara, foundation and eyeshadow last longer.

SE- special edition

Shadestick - a smooth and silky, rich and creamy eye shadow delivered in stick form.

ss- shadestick

Technakohl liner- a mechanical pencil-style liner.
